The Philco 2N1158A is a germanium PNP micro alloy diffused transistor, an improved type of surface barrier transistor capable of operating at frequencies in excess of 200MHz. Philco produced several transistors packaged in this 'hamburger' style package in both black and gold plated versions. The example shown here is a gold plated U.S. Army variant, and is noteworthy for having "US Army" livery stamped on the top of the transistor package.
