The Monsanto MDA100 is a obscure display module that combines a first generation MAN1 LED display with a very simple driver module. The MDA100 has no logic or other active components, all that is included within the module is a series of 8 resistors connected to each of the MAN1's segments. The MDA100 also doubles as a right angle adapter for PCB mounting, and can be combined with a standard DIP socket for easy replacement. The MDA100 is completely potted in black plastic, and can not be dissembled or repaired.
Monsanto also made a 3 digit version of this part, which included a carrier PCB with built in 7 segment decoders.
