We do not know much about this part. This device appears to be a CCD image sensor from the late 1980s, but the device has no part number or manufacturer's logo. The only writing anywhere on this CCD is the word 'XGA2' printed in block letters on the die, which suggests this device produces images at the XGA resolution; 1024 x768 pixels. This would place the manufacture date of this CCD no earlier than 1990, the release date for XGA, but the copious amounts of gold used in the construction of the device's ceramic package would be rather high for an item made in the 1990s. The 68 pin package for this CCD includes a glass window over the die itself, to protect the CCD surface from dust and the fingers of clumsy electronics engineers.

XGA2 Leadless CCD, at rest.

The part number for this device is currently unknown.
