The NL-40225AL, originally produced by Burroughs, is a small and obscure flying lead Nixie tube. Packaged in the same tiny envelope as the Burroughs 4021L & 7977, the 40225AL does not display numbers. Instead the tube uses a limited alphanumeric character set, containing the letters A through E as well as plus and minus symbols. We are unsure as to what the use case for such a tube would be. The example shown here is a second source variant produced by National Electronics.
